Hyaluronic acid filler

What is filler and facial balancing?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments made with hyaluronic acid (HA), a substance found naturally in your skin. They restore volume, smooth folds and strategically support facial structure. Placed by someone with a deep understanding of facial anatomy and proportion, filler gives natural-looking results without surgery.

At Lotus MD, facial balancing goes beyond adding volume. We look at the face as a whole: your bone structure, soft tissue, skin quality and natural symmetry, so the result complements every feature rather than changing it. That is the difference between filler that looks obvious and filler that simply makes you look well.

Our philosophy is rooted in restraint and precision. Less is often more, especially when you understand how the face ages and how its proportions interact. We use FDA-approved hyaluronic acid fillers and take a staged, conservative approach that allows for adjustments over time.

Rather than following a one-size-fits-all protocol, we tailor every treatment to your anatomy, your goals and your lifestyle, so the results feel as natural as they look.

Candidacy

Who is filler for?

Ideal candidates include adults with volume loss in the cheeks, lips or under the eyes, people who want to enhance facial contours and symmetry, and anyone looking for subtle, non-surgical improvement with physician-led care. You may be a good candidate if you:

  • Notice hollowness under the eyes or flattening in the cheeks
  • Want fuller, more defined lips without an overdone look
  • Feel your jawline or chin lacks definition
  • Prefer gradual, reversible enhancement over surgery
  • Value an artistic, anatomy-first approach over a volume-first one
  • Want a treatment with minimal downtime
  • Want a physician overseeing your care

Volume restoration

  • Cheeks and midface volume loss
  • Under-eye hollows (tear trough filler)
  • Temple hollowing and lateral face volume
  • Nasolabial folds (smile lines)

Candidacy is always confirmed at your consultation. If a different treatment fits your goal better, we will tell you.

Questions

Filler questions, answered

Still unsure? Book a consultation and ask us in person.

How long do dermal fillers last?

It depends on the area and the product. Lip filler typically lasts 6 to 9 months, while cheek and jawline filler can last 12 to 18 months. Metabolism and sun exposure also play a part.

Is filler reversible?

Yes. Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed. This is one of the key safety advantages of HA filler, and it gives both our team and our patients peace of mind.

Will my results look natural?

Our whole approach is built around natural-looking results. We work with your facial structure, focusing on balance and proportion rather than volume alone. The goal is for people to notice that you look rested and refreshed, not that you’ve had filler.

Does filler hurt?

Most patients find filler treatment very tolerable. Topical anesthetic is available, and many filler products also contain lidocaine to reduce discomfort during injection. Expect mild tenderness or pressure in more sensitive areas like the lips.

What’s the difference between Botox and filler?

Botox relaxes the muscles that cause dynamic wrinkles. Filler adds volume and structure where the face has lost volume with age, or where you would like more definition. The two work well together and are often combined for a full-face approach.

Can I go back to work the same day?

Yes, for most patients. Some bruising or mild swelling is possible, but most people return to normal activities right away. Avoid strenuous exercise, alcohol and extreme heat for 24 to 48 hours after treatment.

How much does filler cost?

Cost depends on the number of syringes and the areas treated. We discuss it openly at your consultation, before any commitment, with no hidden fees, and we help you prioritize treatments to fit your budget.

Can filler be combined with other treatments?

Yes. Filler pairs well with Botox for full-face rejuvenation, and can be done alongside or in sequence with microneedling, PRP or other skin treatments. We guide you on sequencing and timing for safe results.
