Regenerative medicine
What is PRP hair restoration?
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) hair restoration is a medical treatment that uses your body’s own healing mechanisms to stimulate hair growth. Concentrated platelets from a small sample of your blood, rich in growth factors, are used to revitalize dormant hair follicles and promote thicker, healthier hair.
Unlike temporary cover-ups or harsh chemical treatments, PRP works on the follicle itself. By injecting this concentrated plasma directly into the scalp, we activate your body’s natural regenerative processes and encourage existing follicles to produce stronger hair.
At Lotus MD, we understand that hair loss affects more than your appearance. It can change how you feel about yourself. Our physician-led approach tailors each PRP treatment to your hair loss pattern, medical history and goals.

PRP hair restoration can do more than change how your hair looks. As your hair health improves, so does the confidence that comes with it. We look at what is driving the hair loss, not only the scalp, and where hormones or metabolism play a part, we can address those too through hormonal and metabolic optimization.

Blood draw and PRP preparation
We collect a small amount of blood, similar to routine lab work, and process it in a centrifuge to concentrate the platelets.
Scalp preparation

Precise injection

PRP hair restoration questions, answered
Still unsure? Book a consultation and ask us in person.
How does PRP differ from other hair loss treatments?
PRP uses healing factors from your own blood. Rather than introducing a foreign substance or relocating hair, as medications and surgery do, it works by stimulating the follicles you already have.
Is PRP hair restoration painful?
Most patients feel minimal discomfort. We use topical numbing for your comfort during the procedure. Any mild soreness typically resolves within 24 to 48 hours.
When will I see results?
Hair growth is gradual. Most patients notice less shedding within 4 to 6 weeks, with visible improvements in thickness and density at 3 to 4 months. The best results develop over 6 to 12 months.
Are there any side effects?
Because PRP comes from your own blood, the risk of an allergic reaction is very low. Some patients have mild redness or swelling at the injection sites, which typically resolves within a few hours.
How long do results last?
With maintenance treatments, PRP results can last 12 to 18 months or longer. How long they last depends on individual factors such as age, genetics and overall health.
Can PRP be combined with other treatments?
Yes. PRP can build on other hair restoration methods, can be combined with treatments like scalp microneedling, and can be used to support recovery after a hair transplant.
Am I a candidate if I have complete baldness?
PRP works best when hair follicles are dormant but still viable. Areas of complete baldness may not respond as well, since the follicles may no longer be there. We assess your candidacy at your consultation.
